This pattern is knitted bottom up in the round, in three pieces and then assembled. The color work is half knitted in and half duplicate stitch. A rounded tip plastic yarn needle is important! I have used a pointed tapestry needle on this pattern and the birds came out speckled even though I was carful, so invest in a plastic rounded yarn needle!

Finished Measurements:
Bust: 35” (37”, 39”)
Bottom Ribbing: 38” (40”, 42”) when stretched
From Back Collar to Bottom: 25” (25”, 27”)
Sleeve: 28” (28”, 29”) Long, 10” (11”, 12”) Around

1” square = 6 stitches x 8 rows
You can adjust the size of your sweater by the gauge. Example: A gauge that is 4 stitches to an inch will result in a larger sweater, A gauge that is 7 stitches to an inch will result in a smaller sweater.
Do not adjust the pattern to fit your gauge or the color work will be off! If you need a different size chart please feel free to email me at and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. (I don’t mean to offend any confident knitters! If you know what you’re doing then adjust away!)

Polka dots in the round are supper fun! Please visit my tumblr page for a tutorial on how to knit them easily.

I used 2 skeins of the Gray color yarn and 4 skeins of the Red. Since it was hand dyed I had to alternate two skeins of the red while knitting the body to keep the color uniform. The sleeves and gray sections were small enough to work with just one skein at a time.
