Careen is a seamless cowl worked in a light and airy DK weight Artesano BFL. The cowl is knitted in the round with large twisted cables that create a plush cosy fabric to keep you nice and warm through the winter months.

  • Intermediate difficulty - knit, purl, cables, knitting in the round, simple increases and decreases, and finishing.

  • Finished Measurements - Approximately 10 ½ in / 26.5 cm tall and 20 in / 52 cm circumference.

  • Yarn - Artesano British Wool, DK Blue Faced Blend (100% wool, 50g / 120 yds / 110 m) #06 Teal, 2 skeins. Substitute with approximately 240 yards / 220 metres of DK weight yarn.

  • Needles and Notions - Size 4 mm (US 6) short circular needle or a set of long double pointed needles.
    7 stitch markers, one contrast marker, cable needle, and tapestry needle.

  • Gauge - 22 sts and 30 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in St st using 4 mm (US 6) needles (used for reference only). Adjust needle size if necessary to get the correct gauge.
