Inspired by the beaches where turtles hatch from nests in the sand above the shoreline. Trails of slipped stitches and yarnovers across a textured garter stitch beach mark the baby turtles’ journey down to the shore. The wavy sea is made using variations on “Old shale” lace.

The shawl is worked from a garter tab cast on in 5/8 ths of a circle, a very wearable shape. There is a choice of three sizes, made by increasing the lace portion. For a different look the shawl can be made in a single colour of yarn.

Needles: 3.5 mm / US size 4 needles for working flat. 80 cm / 32” minimum circular suggested.
4.5 mm / US size 7 needles for bind off only.
