The Carnival is a lightweight and close-fitting beanie, lovely to wear and totally unisex. Go as bright as you dare or choose subtle tones for a more understated look.

Materials:
Small quantities (less than 25g each) of 4 different colours of DK/Light Worsted weight yarn, 2 of which should be similar in tone. Example made with Marriners DK Yarn in shades of Lavender (A), Red (B), Cerise (C) and White (D).
4.00 mm Crochet Hook.
Large eyed tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Finished Size/Gauge:
Finished size goes from 21 inches/53 cms unstretched to 24 inches/61 cms stretched, approximately, and will fit the majority of teenager and adult heads.
Gauge is not critical because of the ‘stretch factor’ if you would like a particularly large diameter hat then go up a hook size or two, bearing in mind that more yarn will be required. The length is easily adjusted by repeating the rounds 28 and 29.

Method:
The Carnival Beanie is made from the top down starting with a magic loop and worked in the round, in one piece, to eliminate seaming.
