There’s a sense of peace that comes when you’re standing at the edge of where the ocean touches the sand. Toes curling into the fine grains, I can’t help but stare mesmerized at the flow that churns bits of shell around my ankles. Under the glow of the sun, bright hues of peach and custard, pinks and blues blend, erasing lines into a shimmering illusion. Time both speeds up and stills.

Some handy tutorials you might wish to use:

SHAPE
a sideways asymmetrical triangle.
Note: It’s a nice, big, wrappable shawl.

SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate
Knitters need to know how to work knits, purls, yarn overs, k2tog, ssk, kfb, wrap & turn, working flat, binding off, picking up stitches, and measuring gauge. The pattern features a couple of different stitch patterns, including lace, but is heavily focused on garter stitch.

YARN
5 different colour skeins SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock (425 yd / 389 m total; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon).
Changes in gauge will change the amount of yarn used, so remember this in your planning and work a gauge swatch.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Size 6 US / 4 mm circular needles, 32” (80 cm)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct blocked gauge.
Yarn needle

GAUGE
22 sts and 48 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Garter stitch, UNBLOCKED and UNSTRETCHED in the suggested yarn
19 sts and 40 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Garter stitch, stretched aggressively, blocked, and then relaxed
Note that gauge is not crucial, but will affect required yardage and finished size.
