This pattern is for a piece that is both SCARF and COWL, depending on how the wearer chooses to wear it!

This pattern was inspired by the long and loopy cowls frequently worn by young ladies today, the slight sparkle in the yarn, and my own preference for scarves over cowls.

It struck me that there should be some sort of more flexible option—a scarf that could become a cowl, depending on one’s fancy. Also, Caroline Bingley is a hard woman with sharp edges, so I wanted to create something with peaks and points and a cold, sharp sparkle. She lacks the gentle ease and quick wit of Miss Elizabeth Bennet, and she prefers the stiff formality of her own high society. The columns, extended lace in the trim, and the sparkling buttons emphasize this.
