Simple luxury at it’s best… One skein of sumptuous cashmere yarn, fun stitch pattern and a project that is fairly quick to complete. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, it would make a perfect holiday gift for yourself or a special
someone on your list.

Materials List:
1 skein of Jade Sapphire Mongolian Cashmere 4-ply (100% cashmere) color #114 Thunderstorm, 55 grams/200
yards.
US size 9 (5 1/2 mm), 16” circular needle. Adjust size to hit gauge.
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 4.5 stitiches in 1”, for stockinette in the round.
Finished Sizes: One size, 21 1/2” circumference by 9” tall.

Notes:
You will have enough yarn to do both a gauge swatch and complete the cowl. We did a small flat gauge swatch that
mimics knitting in the round. On a circular needle, cast on 24 stitches, k one row. Don’t turn your work to purl, as you
normally would do for a back and forth stockinette gauge. Instead (keep the right side of work facing you), slide the work so that stitches are on the left needle, then loosely carry the yarn along the back of the work and knit another row. Repeat until your swatch measures about 4”. You will end up with long yarn loops on the back of your work. If the loops are in the least bit tight and won’t let your gauge swatch lie flat, simply cut them at the center of the swatch.
