Crochet pattern for adorable Cat Baby Cocoon Hat & Bootie Set.

Introduction: This time last year I made this cat cocoon inspired by my white cat, Fyn, for a friend’s baby shower. I recently made another cocoon and wrote down the pattern now that I am expecting my own baby.

The set comes with matching booties that can be attached to the cocoon when not in use. The cocoon, hat, tail are all worked in spiraled rounds for a completely seamless look.

Sizes (first size given for 0-3 months, second size given for 3-6 months):
Hat (circumference): 15” (38.1 cm), 17” (43.18 cm)
Cocoon width: 9.5” (24.13 cm), 11” (27.94 cm)
Cocoon length: 15.5” (39.37 cm), 17” (43.18 cm)
Bootie length: 3.5” (8.89 cm), 4” (10.16 cm)

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, half-double crochet 2 together, double crochet 2 together.

Optional techniques: magic ring, chainless starting half and double crochet.

Pattern format: written & charted with photo tutorial, US crochet terms. Pattern has been tested.

Weight based on Craft Yarn Council
Main color: 575yd (525.78m) for 0-3 months, 650yd (594.36m) for 3-6 months, #4 medium, 0.476 grams/meter, 11 wpi
Accent color: 50 yd (45.72 m), #2 fine, 0.363 grams/meter, 14 wpi

Other tools/materials needed: yarn sewing needle, (2) 0.5”(1.27 cm) buttons, stitch markers, ribbon optional.
