This is a quick and easy hat pattern, designed for my youngest niece (1 year old).

Using only 1 skein of super-bulky yarn, this pattern knits up quick in around an hour (well, for me, some of you are scary fast) and since it utilizes stockinette stitch in the round (knit all stitches) for the main body, it’s a perfect project for watching TV or listening to a podcast.

It is a version of the famous Cat Hat (also known als Cat Ear Hat/Beanie) made for a young child.

After a 1x1 rib rim, you knit stockinette and don’t decrease in the end - you use the kitchener stitch to bind off, giving you essentially a square. By putting the hat on, the ears form automatically.

In summary:
1 skein of super-bulky yarn, + 1 hour of your time = happy toddler

There are no version for other sizes, but once you get the hang of, you can quickly customize it for your needs.
