YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
This pillow finishes to about 9X9X4”, varying slightly with the exact gauge. It is simple and may be made on any machine at all so multiple gauges are given in the chart. Adjust your machine to knit a tight fabric, more like what you’d want for a sock than for a sweater, then choose the closest gauge from the chart and fill in the blanks in the pattern with the values given. Numerical perfection has been slightly compromised to allow increases and decreases to occur on the correct side of the work. The chart assumes a normal proportion in tight stockinette of rows taking up about 70% of the space that stitches do. If you are slightly off, easing as you sew will be adequate. If for some reason your gauge is quite different, feel free to get in touch with the real numbers and I’ll help you adjust your counts.

The yarn used in the sample is Tamm Bebe, adjusted to a firm fabric, using the 7 stitch per inch gauge.
