The idea to make a little red kerchief type of thing with a cat skull on it came when someone showed me their cuddly toy dog with a cute little red kerchief around it’s neck. The original small version was then also designed with a cuddly toy, or dog, in mind, but it turned out to be the perfect size for a sexy little choker. ;-P

Materials and gauge:
The small, nearly choker like, sample version was knit on 2,5mm (US 1½) needles with some fingering to sport weight crochet cotton nr. 8. The sample used around 17g (0.6oz), or 55m (60yd) yarn in total. Gauge for this sample is 30sts and 52 rows on 10cm (4in).

DK yarn on 4mm needles should result in a more standard sized kerchief.

Apart of the yarn and knitting needles you will need a matching crochet hook, a button, or other closure and a darning needle, to work away the yarn ends. More added decoration is optional.

Techniques:
Directional decreases, wrap and turn short rows, free colorwork (combination of stranded and intarsia) and simple crochet.
