Continuing on from the Al Paca Toy theme, Cate was made as an Easter special for Create & Craft TV as a wonderful accessory to keep your egg warm whilst preparing the soldiers for dunking! Proving to be popular with all ages, Cate is so tactile and a great way of adding conversation to your breakfast table but why stop there? – Eggs can be eaten at dinner time too!

Cate is knitted in one piece and there are quite a few knitting techniques incorporated into the design. These include short row shaping and making stitches using the knitted cast on method. As Cate has an intricate way of shaping to create the 3D effect, it is recommended 2 hours are set aside to make the face, ears and head in one sitting.

“Just finished my first Cate. In a rush now as Easter is looming! Love her cute face, but changing the name to Norman for an alpaca we met at our local farm! The other two will be Desmond and Roger and I’m using up bits of yarn to make a ‘fancy’ alpaca.” Valerie H

Cate is knitted on 5mm circular needles using the magic loop technique (DPNs can be used too).
