I first published CBD On Point: Rainbow as a similar pattern called POINTILLISM a few years ago. Because it is among my most popular designs, I worked it up as socks, mitts, shawl, bag, cowl, tunic…just about everything! And now, I am re-releasing the hat pattern with new charts and instructions using Colorworks by Debi Merino/Tencel blends. It is available as a single pattern and as a kit, which includes the pattern and the CBD yarns suggested in the pattern. (I am happy to create custom colorways for your kit. Just ask me!) Each colorway comprises a 50/50 Merino Tencel blend--one strand of each. Tencel adds a beautiful luster and drape to the fabric, making the design pop. Plus, it has the warmth of Merino without the bulk of the original version. The feel is fabulous…soft and snuggly, but the hardtwist of the fibers yields a wonderful stitch definition for the colorwork design. The hat can be made as a beanie, a slouchy, or a super-slouch hat (super-slouch is pictured). Because I include the amount of yarn needed to knit the hat, rather than have you purchase a 200-yd ball of each color needed, I can offer the kit for a knitter-friendly $15.
