Cedro is all about this gorgeous marl - a strand of Ritual Dyes Fae paired with a strand of Ritual Dyes Elder - both lovely yarns on their own, but when the delicate blue strands of laceweight peek in and out of the pale green stockinette background, and the subtle blue haze gets added to the solid, it’s really special!

To highlight the combination, I chose to design with a lot of stockinette so the yarns could really show up, and then added a lace detail that I felt was both bold enough to stand up to the colors in the fabric, but delicate at the same time.

The result is the Cedro pullover - featuring textured lace flowers and garter stitch details on the lower body, an open V-neck, and an easy fit. Construction and details are simple, with a rolled cuff on the sleeve and a simple rib on the collar. Not only is it great distracted knitting, but it knits up in no time!

The real drama here is in the different combinations of color you can create - from a subtlly vareigated halo in tone-on-tone color to a gorgeous bold marl in contrasting shades. See the test knits for some beautiful ideas, or even choose a single yarn in a heavy worsted/aran weight with a speckle or soft vareigation if you prefer to work this without doubling the yarn.

Cedro is worked from the bottom up from in the round to armholes, then separated in pieces and worked flat to shoulder. Stitches are picked up around armholes and neckline once shoulders are seamed, and both sleeves and collar are worked in the round to end. The lace is both charted and written, and notes are in the pattern to modify for fit as needed.

Yardage by Size

Sizes:

36(39.5,42.75,46.5,49.75,53.25)(56.5,60,63.5,68)” 91.5(100.25,108.5,118.25,126.5,135.25)(143.5,152.5,161.25,
172.75)cm circumference around body, based on finished fabric.

Sample worn with 5”/12.75cm of positive ease around bust and a short length. I suggest 4-6”/10-15.75cm of positive ease for fit as intended. For the largest sizes, I suggest between 6-8”/15.75-20.5cm positive ease for the boxy fit shown.

Yardage

Sample uses both yarns below, held together. I love the effect created by using two different colors of yarn, so the mohair haze subtly variegates the fabric.

If substituting a single yarn, look for a heavy worsted or aran weight skein with a touch of halo, speckle or vareigation for a similar effect.

Note that substitute yarns or modifications to the pattern may result in changes to the estimates below.
