One of two designs from Aether - Elements Sock Collection V, the fifth and final pattern in the Elements Sock Collection series. Also included with purchase of this pattern is The Void Sock design.

The Celestial Socks represent the heavens (where the Aether element is found) with the large and small cable twists running up the sides representing the Sun and Moon respectively and the lacy, eyelet stitch representing stars.

I purposely avoided using traditional symbols for the Sun, Moon, and Stars because many of these have alternate meanings in various philosophies and cultures. I wanted this sock design to be something that could be gifted to someone who’s personal beliefs may or may not be known to the knitter.

These are top down socks, knit at 8 stitches to the inch in stockinette and the pattern, which looks complex is easy to memorize and fast to work. The stitch pattern is in both charted and written out format.
