This one of two designs in the Aether - Elements Sock Collection V, the final pattern for my Elements Sock Collection series. This pattern also includes the Celestial Sock design.

The Aether element is thought to be the place where gods and goddesses reside, making it therefore incomprehensible to humans. The Void may be beyond our understanding, but The Void socks are easy to work and the stitch pattern is fast to memorize. The stitch pattern tapers to a point on the instep of the foot and continues in stockinette, but if the knitter desires, The Void stitch pattern could be continued all the way to the toe.

This sock design is knitted from the top down in fingering weight sock yarn. The stitch patterns are given in both chart format as well as written out.

This pattern was used for a Woolgirl sock club with the addition of a picot hem at the top edge. The pattern adaptation was called Dear Santa.
