The final pattern in my Celtic Honey series! Just as the hats have unusual decreases, these mitts have unusual increases, creating a seamless wedge of honeycomb stitch between the Celtic knots instead of a traditional gusset.

Celtic Honey is a closely fitted fingerless glove in DK yarn that uses 1x1, 1x2, and 2x2 cables. Abbreviations used include k1B, c2L, c2R, c2Lp1, c2Rp1, m1p, m1L, and m1R. The left and right hands are identical.

Please note that reading charts is necessary for this pattern.

Notes on sizing:

  • The mitts are modeled with 1 inch of negative ease. If you want a more relaxed fit, consider going up one size.
  • The pattern is offered in size S and M, but if you want to make L or XL, try knitting size S or M in worsted weight yarn with US 6/4 mm or US 7/4.5 mm needles. (And then let us know how it goes!)

Any DK yarn can be substituted for the suggested yarn, but don’t forget to check the gauge.

Please post pictures of your beautiful finished mitts!
