This pattern is worked by weaving two different color strips into each other to form the Celtic knot and the heart, then the border is crocheted around it by working in rounds.

It measures 8 inches from side-to-side, 9 inches from corner-to-corner. Using different materials may result in a different size.

You will need 3 different colors of yarn (partial skeins each). I recommend two complimentary colors and a shade of white. Use your imagination to come up with any combination!

You can use the motif alone or make multiple motifs and stitch them together. You can make a scarf, tree skirt, afghan, shawl…the options are limitless.
