Cengkeh means clove in Bahasa Indonesia. It’s the aromatic flower buds and commonly used as a spice. It is native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. I always use dried cloves when I cook clear soup and many other Indonesian traditional foods. The lacy motif in this hat represents the clove buds.
