This vest is knit using worsted or aran weight wool double stranded. You could also use a bulky weight wool if it has no more than 90 to 100m per 100g. This makes a very warm vest for children who live in cold climates.
I wrote this pattern for charity knitting. It was originally published on the Warm Woolies web site as the Vest of the Month for May 2006. There it was renamed Good Friend Cable Vest. Since Warm Woolies is now closed down, I thought charity knitters might appreciate having the pattern available here.
I am now knitting for We Care - Maine. Please join us in helping to keep children warm!
