This hat is extremely warm and comfortable because the ribbing is doubled. There are directions for optional ways to attach the ribbing so it stays neatly in place. Because it is knit in worsted weight yarn, it does not take long to knit. It takes one skein of 186 yards and uses up almost all of the skein. More yardage can result in a “slouchier” hat.

It can be knit smallerfor a nicely snug fit and/or a small head or larger for a looser fit and or a large head. The snug fit is nice for active times such as snow shoveling and other winter activities.
