This is a modern looking mitered baby blanket named after my Niece whom it was made for.

The blanket can be knitted up in whatever yarn you desire, just use the corresponding needle size.

I’ve used Bella Baby Layette as it’s a nice soft yarn, perfect for babies :)

I’ve used 8 balls of yarn - 4 of each which yielded a bassinet sized blanket (77cm square), again you can make this to any size you desire and will be dependent on yarn you use.

A side note: This will need to be blocked, the fat tummy/middle issue dissappears with blocking. You’ll need to block anyway to ensure the lines all match up and are straight. The blanket that I knit almost 2 years ago has not needed to be reblocked since I gifted it and has been used for 2 babies now. Please trust that the saggyness will disappear. I didn’t do a heavy block either (because I had enough wool content in my yarn for it to hold). I just pinned and sprayed with water and left to dry.

ETA:24/02/11 - It’s been bought to my attention that bobbling issue tends to occur if using acrylic yarn or a yarn with no memory. For this blanket I’d suggest making sure that you have a decent percentage of actual wool in it so that it will hold it’s shape after blocking. The yarn I used had 25% wool and is still holding up almost a year later :)
