C'etait Un Rendezvous
Not just top down, not just bottom up, not just side to side; just the best of everything.
This figure hugging pullover knits up quickly in two pieces:
The bodice is knit in a rib stitch, and stretches with vertical lines from just above the hip to just beneath the bust line–creating a perfectly fitted empire waist and accenting all the right places.
The sleeves and top are knit circularly in a Russian lace stitch pattern by casting on at one sleeve cuff, splitting the stitches and working subtle shaping for the flat front and back, then rejoining the stitches to knit the other sleeve circularly.
The combination of different knitted directions, stitches worked circularly, and carefully placed decreases creates a simply knit delicate lace pullover, fitting perfectly with minimum shaping, little finishing or weaving in ends, and no darts.
C’etait Un Rendezvous: It’s a meeting of different stitches, different directions, and different constructions techniques resulting in an easy to knit sweater which is even easier to wear.
The pattern includes charts for all shaping executed, a schematic, and tips on making sure the lace does not deform when worn.
The yarn listed is only a suggestion. Any worsted weight yarn will carry the pattern.
