“Cha Feel” is what my 18 year old college bound son says to me when he means “make sense?” or “do you feel me?” or “get it?” This saying/phrase comes from the movie 21 Jump Street.

Cha Feel is a freeform design. When I am in a content emotional state my creativity is able to flow freely. The ability to cast on with a small vision and let that vision become a reality with one knitting session at a time is a very liberating experience. My son leaving for college this fall is not a content emotional state for me but I believe knitting will help, as it always does, get me through the tough times.

This shawl offers some challenges in the form of cables, short rows, picking up stitches as well as a center cable that is created by casting off live stitches while making the eighteen stitch center cable panel.

The gray and cream pictures are of the original shawl using Foxhill Cormo yarn. The pictures you will see shortly for the orange and gray shawl use Ella Rae Worsted. You will need 600 yards of the MC and 300 yards of the CC.

The finished measurements (after blocking) are 68” x 25”. Make is smaller by using US 7 needles and fingering weight yarn or larger by using US 10.5 and Aran weight yarn.

I don’t know what I would do without knitting in my life. It helps me escape my troubles and celebrate my happiness. Plus it allows me to teach and share a passion with others.
