Over the holidays Hubby and I attended Stars on Ice with his parents.

The costumes for the first performance were graphic black and white designs with splashes of red--gloves, a hat.

Of course, I had to figure out how to capture them in knitting.

Argyle seemed the best way to go.

I used the more mellow cream and maroon for a more sophisticate (to my mind) look. I think the white and scarlet red would be great, too.
The Chadwick colors mix and match so well the possibilities are almost endless.

Pattern is worked flat and seamed using either Kitchener or 3-needle bind off. The edge ribbing is worked along with the center chart and should be connected with the standard intarsia crossing on the wrong side.

The prototype has 5 diamonds and used just under half a ball of each color. I think a second cowl of 4 diamonds would be possible with the leftover yarn. Or make a wider (longer?) cowl by continuing until you almost run out of yarn.
