Chain Reaction was born out of my fascination by mosaic and slipped stitches.
I love colour work and this is the easiest way to achieve fun design with not too much hassle by handling few coloured yarns at the same time.

It is a narrow crescent-shaped shawlette with mixture of garter and plain stocking stitch. The knitting never gets boring as the colour changes are quite frequent and the stocking stitch section is shaped by using short-row technique. There is a little bit of crocheting involved for finishing only.

It uses only 145 grams of sock yarn (1 skein (100g/440yards)) of main colour and 40-45 grams (155 yards) (of contrasting colour) Perfect pattern for using that single skein and some remnants from another that have been hiding in the stash!

There are two versions shown :
Grey one knitted in Dye for Wool Merino/Silk fingering in Dolphin in my Bathtub (silver) and Bat in a dark Mood (very dark purple)
Green knitted in Tosh Merino Light in Jade and Fragrant

Despite being fairly narrow it easily covers shoulders and being long and light can easily be worn as a scarf during colder months.

It is an all year round accessory perfect for anyone!
