SIZE: 18” x 36” circumference

MATERIALS:

Expression Fiber Arts North DK or Dewy DK

Shown in color: 3 skeins Eagle River North DK and 3 skeins Champagne Dewy DK.

US size 9 (5.55 mm) 32” circular needles or size to acquire gauge

Beginner - This pattern is for the new knitter excited to learn new skills.

The pattern is designed for use with any DK or Worsted weight yarn. Another option is to use fingering weight yarn (still only 3 skeins needed) and hold the yarn double (two strands together).

What Makes This Cowl So Great
•The pattern is easy to memorize. This is important. You want to be able to knit while talking. Or watching tv. Or riding in a car. Or flying in a plane. Or while in a busy coffee shop. If you can avoid having to check your pattern every round, it’s mighty helpful and less stressful.

•It’s just so incredibly versatile. Don’t you just adore patterns that can be worn in multiple ways? Wrap it around twice for a cozy, winter scarf look. Or wear it over your head (love that look) for an elegant appeal (or let’s be honest, to cover that hair in the rain or snow - very helpful if your hair frizzes up in moisture like mine). Or just toss it casually around your next once, grab your purse and head out the door for some groceries.

•You don’t have to worry about running out of yarn. The pattern is designed so that you can use the yarn you have on hand and knit until the cowl is as wide as you like. You could use one skein and make a thinner cowl. Or two skeins for a medium-sized cowl. The version shown uses three (4 oz) skeins of dk weight yarn; approximately 750 yards. You just stop knitting when you’re nearly out of yarn, which I describe in the pattern.

•Let’s be honest. It’s sexy. Seriously. This cowl is dreamyyy and you’ll feel like a supah stah wearing it. Make it with an elegant solid or semi-solid yarn or go for a fun and funky look with a variegate. Wear it proudly around town, knowing you look amazing.

•It’s reversible. What? Does this thing keep getting better and better? Why, yes, indeedy, it does. You can literally turn this inside out and wear it like a boss. :)

•Watch a video of this pattern here.

It uses size US 9 (5.5mm) circular needles and is great for beginners to advanced-level knitters! The only stitches needed are knit and purl. Nothing crazy or complicated here! Life is complex enough. Let’s knit something easy and gorgeous.

Have fun feeling like a million bucks in your Champagne Cowl.
