Chaos & Kindness was designed to be stress-free above all else. It’s a simple way to show off the beauty of a yarn advent. The pattern is easy to memorize and requires no special skills beyond knit and purl. When you’re done, you’ll have a big, cozy, bright rectangle to keep you warm.

You can wear it with or without blocking. If you leave it unblocked, it will be smaller due to scrunching, but also warmer due to it’s thickness. If you block it, it will be larger, flatter, and a little neater looking.

Remember that every yarn has the potential to bleed which can be devastating when you combine so many different colors. Block your shawl in cool water, and don’t leave it soaking for too long without checking the water for color runoff.

I made the sample using a full 24-skein advent set with fingering weight yarn held double, but you can use any yarn, any gauge. You can also use a smaller amount of yarn for a scarf.
