We have 2 woodstoves. One tucked in the fireplace of our living room, and one large cookstove that radiates in our kitchen. Before the flames rise up, we must shovel out the ashes from the night before.

Rough pebbles of dark charcoal & white flakes of delicate ash scatter themselves across the cast iron handshovel before being taken outside. The ashes have served their purpose, and tell stories of the night before on their dusty journey to sleep beneath the stars & pine trees.

Ash mitts are worked on the paler grey, charcoal mitts are worked on the dark grey.
