Chard is worked top-down in one piece, which minimises the need for sewing up. You cast on for the neck and do short row shaping to raise the back neck, before working the yoke with a lace motif in front which can be worked either from the chart or written instructions. You then separate the sleeves from the front and back – leaving the sleeve stitches on waste yarn – before working the body in the round. You work the lower edgings on straight needles after briefly shaping the lower back using more short-rows. The sleeve stitches are picked up and the sleeves are finished individually.

This issue is on sale from 25th June from supermarkets and newsagents across the UK and from the Knit Now website. It is also available digitally here.
