Charlotte's Easy Lace Shawl (102LC)
Hands-down, one of the easiest lace shawls you will ever knit. Run out of yarn and want a lace “kerchief” instead? Stop short at any time for your desired size. Want a bigger shawl? Get more yarn and knit longer. This shawl has the added advantage of growing in width faster than a standard triangle shawl.
Sizes and Yarn Requirements:
Use any yarn, any weight. You are not limited to only very fine laceweight yarns, even chunky mohair would work well with this pattern. Adjust needle size accordingly to match your yarn choice.
Shawls shown in pattern photo: Modeled shawl uses 775 yards of Icelandic Laceweight yarn, knit on size US 6 needles, and measures 37” deep by 75” wide. Background shawl uses 1,000 yards of Brown Sheep Cotton Fine, knit on size US 6 needles, and measures 42” deep by 86” wide. Also knit but not pictured, is a larger shawl, 47” deep by 103” wide, made from 630 yards of LaGran Mohair on size US 11 needles.
Needles: Size varies depending on yarn choice, but aim for a very loose and lacy gauge, perhaps 4 needle sizes or more up from what the yarn may normally call for.
