This shawlette design embodies the city of Baltimore. It is in turns fancy and simple, its busy lace sections framed by plain bands of stockinette and garter stitch. The yarn itself is soft but sturdy—a blend of BFL, cashmere and silk with a subtle sheen when it catches the light. It all comes together to create something special.
The pattern includes both charts and written instructions. The lace repeat is short and easy to memorize, making this a great project for on-the-go knitting or a first shawl for beginner knitters.

Size: 1 size, approximately 42”/106 cm across and 20”/50 cm deep

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4”/10 cm in honeycomb lace stitch, blocked
Gauge is not essential, but will affect the finished dimensions of your shawlette, and the amount of yarn needed!

Yarn: Neighborhood Fiber Co Cobblestone Sock, 75% BFL, 15% cashmere, 10% silk (400 yd/4 oz.): 1 skein
Or approximately 400 yd/365 m fingering weight yarn.
The sample used nearly the entire skein, so you may wish to purchase a 2nd skein of yarn to ensure you have enough.

Needles: US 5/3.75 mm 24”/60 cm + circular needle, or size to obtain gauge

Notions: Yarn needle, stitch markers
