The inspiration for this design came from my cherished Navajo Rug. Even before I became involved in the fiber world I was fascinated by Navajo weavers. They create intricate, unique designs that are never written down before they appear in their rugs. But don’t worry, for this cowl I will take you into “charted territory”.

Like many Navajo designs, this piece has four-way symmetry. The top half mirrors the bottom half and the second half of the cowl mirrors the first. Double knitting with a special cast-on and bind-off make this cowl reversible and refined.
