Cheer Me Up! is a flattering and sophisticated crescent shaped lace shawl suitable for all types of occasions.
I created Cheer Me Up! for my daughter who asked for a lace shawl to go with her favourite dress at a formal event. The shawl turned out to go well with her jeans, sneakers and leather jacket as well.

The shawl is knitted in one piece from the outer lace edge. Short rows with decreases in the upper stocking stitch section give the shawl its curved shape.

The lace section contains several beads. You may omit the beads, if preferred.

The lace instructions are both in chart and written out row-by-row.

Notions:
300 beads size 8/0 or 6/0 (beads are optional)
Crochet hook for placing the beads

Larger needle is used for cast on only.

Stitch markers (optional)
Tapestry needle
Blocking supplies

Finished measurements:
Width: 135 cm / 53 inches
Depth (center): 44 cm / 17 inches

Techniques used in the pattern:

  • Decreases: k2tog, p2tog, ssk, centered double decrease
  • Increase: yo
  • Placing beads
  • Short rows

The double decrease, placing beads, and short rows are explained in the pattern.
