The pattern uses a series of shell stitches to form the circular like patterns. The first row is “Upside” down shells formed by completing the first half of a double crochet seven times and then finishing all seven with one stitch. The upper half is formed by looping in the center of the lower cluster with seven double crochets.

My place mats came out to 18” x 15”. I only made the place mats.

I used six skeins of blue and eight skeins of white with a 3.5 (E) hook.

The pattern moves along fairly quickly.
