Chequerboard is a long cowl in a checked lace pattern alternating with stocking stitch blocks. The pattern is easy to memorise and is provided in both charted and written form.

Knitted in the round, Chequerboard starts and ends with a few rows of k1, p1 rib.

Chequerboard is long enough to allow a variety of styling opportunities. It can be worn long, or wrapped twice around the neck. Or, with the aid of a shawl pin, you could drape it creatively over your shoulders.
