What am I missing?
Cherry brooch pin decoration or toy
I have added some colour to my vintage bag with a knitted cherry.
This listing is for a free pattern for you to knit your own cherry decoration.
The 6 page pattern includes instructions and lots of photos to help you.
As this only requires small amounts of yarn, this is an ideal pattern for using up the ends of balls of wool.
You could make your cherry as a pin or brooch, as a hanging decoration, or for dolls houses or toy boxes.
Please note that this is not a listing for a finished item. This listing is for the knitting patterns only.
The pattern is written so it is easier for beginners to follow. You will need to be able to do the following stitches/techniques:
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- Casting on
- Casting off
- i-cord
- Sewing seams
- Increasing: knit front and back (KFB)
- Decreasing: knit 2 together (K2TOG); slip 2 and knit (SSK); purl 2 together (P2TOG)
All pieces are knitted flat on straight needles, except the i-cord stalks which are knitted on two double pointed needles (DPNs).
Finished Size:
The finished piece is approximately 8cm wide, 8 cm high.
Materials and equipment needed:
- 20g pure wool DK red
