These adorable slippers are an adaptation of a 1908 slipper pattern from Columbia Book of the Yarns 9th Edition! I could not resist their quirky, whimsical look and absolutely had to recreate them!

The Cheshire Slippers remain true to the original slipper construction, and begin with knitting the slipper top flat. The updated pattern then diverges and includes a knitted sole (the original was sewn on), a picked-up cuff (no seaming!), and includes an optional pom pom in lieu of a ribbon. These slippers are written for a DK weight yarn and take less than one skein of each color, even if you opt for the pom poms! It’s a great quick project that will also keep your feet warm and cozy.

These slippers are written for three adult sizes, and are further adjustable when working the heel area! They are meant to have a slightly pointed toe, and fit snug around the foot so they don’t slip off.

These slippers and tons of other patterns are available exclusively at Squid’s School of Vintage Knitting on patreon! Come and join in on the fun!
