All these Orenburg-style lace patterns namely CHESS Square Lace Shawl, CHESS Lace Stole (Scarf) and CHESS Triangle Lace Shawl can be worked with the lace-weight wool, mohair or handspun gossamer weight downy yarn, 800–1000 meters per 100 g.
The total yardage required is approximately:
• CHESS Square Lace Shawl – 2300 (2600, 4000) meters for the 33 х 33 (36 х 36, 45 х 45) Teeth–Version respectively;
• CHESS Lace Stole (Scarf) – 1500 (2300, 2500, 2700) meters for the 18 x 39 (21 x 45, 21 x 48, 21 x 51) Teeth–Version respectively;
• CHESS Triangle Lace Shawl –850 (1200, 1600) meters for the 27 (33, 39) per side Teeth–Version respectively.
The yardage can be varying somewhat depending on the type of fiber used, needles and your manner of knitting.

The square lace shawl is knitted in nontraditional way. The body is knitted first. After the body is completed, a border is attached along the entire perimeter.
