This traditional Aran sweater is knitted from the top down from a saddle shoulder. The front and back are knitted flat to the underarm, where they are joined and the body of the sweater is knitted in the round. Sleeves are picked up at the armhole edge and knitted to cuff. Knitting from the top allows for easy length adjustments. Pick up and knit the collar ribbing and you are all done- minimal finishing! The center panel cable gets wider for the larger sizes.

Our sample is knitted in “Chestnut”.
