Of course I couldn’t see Hannah Friederichs’s marvelous character art for Chetney Pock O’Pea and not knit his adorable hat.

This design is worked from the top down in a classic pixie shape, with stripes and simple colorwork on the body and earflaps.

An optional lining makes it extra warm and cozy. If you don’t want it to be quite so warm, you could A) use a less insulating wool (like Knitpicks Wool of the Andes, which has the colors you would need), B) skip the lining, and/or C) line only the earflaps (CO 17, work 8 rows, decrease as charted, then whipstitch the CO row to the WS of the hat).
