These lovely little mitts are a great way to quickly bust your stash. Needing only 75-85 yds for the main color, and 20-25 yds for the contrasting colors, these babies can easily be whipped up from a few project leftovers.

New to colorwork? This pattern is the perfect intro to stranded knitting. As an added bonus, the colorwork creates an extra cozy inner layer.

Pattern Tips:

  • Fair Isle tends to knit up tightly. Common techniques are to knit loosely, go up a needle size for the colorwork portion or keep the knitting turned inside-out as you work to give the traveling yarn a little extra room to stretch.

  • When changing colors between rows, it’s a good idea to use the jogless stripe technique to hide the seam (detailed in the pattern).
