A simple boat neck lacy top with batwing sleeves and tie cord shoulder seams. A versatile design for many body shapes.

This pattern contains 2 versions:
Chicane - for DK weight yarn & Chicane Lite for Fingering/4 ply weight yarn.

Knitted top-down, the front and back pieces are identical and can be adjusted to fit your own measurements.

Please note: This top is designed to fit loose against the body and sit on the upper/high hip (about 5” above the fullest part of your hip). The top is sized according to upper hip measurements. It is best to measure this area first to determine your yarn amount.

Gauge in lace pattern:
For Chicane (DK), 1.5 pattern repeats per 10cm (4”) wide.
For Chicane Lite,  1.75 pattern repeats per 10cm (4”) wide.

Materials for Chicane Lite
2 to 3 x 100g (3.5oz) Merino Fingering weight yarn to fit sizes 33” - 38” upper/high hip.
3 to 4 x 100g for sizes 39”- 44” upper/high hip

Gauge for Chicane Lite: 22sts x 34 rows based on 4mm needle on 10cm/4” swatch.

This sample is just a 2 colour variation of the same pattern. It was made using fingering weight yarn: 2 skeins of Pink and 1 skein of Grey - size S (35” upper hip).
