Chiffchaff er et stort tørklæde, der består af 4 kvadrater, der er strikket sammen.

Mønsteret er et klassisk zigzag mønster, der har fået et tvist, idet der strikkes ind- og udtagninger på alle pinde. Desuden skubber man maskerne tilbage på pinden, så man kan strikke samme side igen, og dermed er hele tørklædet strikket i retstrik.

The Chiffchaff shawl consists of 4 squares knitted together.

After knitting the first square, stitches are picked up and knitted along the selvedge for the second square. When the second square is completed, stitches are picked up and knitted along the selvedge for the third square. Finally, after having knitted the third square and again picking up and knitting stitches along the selvedge, the fourth square is knitted together with the first square to create a single large square.

The shawl is knitted in a classic zigzag pattern with two alterations. First of all, increases and decreases are worked on all rows. Secondly, sliding stitches back on every other row enables you to work only knit stitches.

Keep your gauge loose in order to be able to wet-block the shawl to measurements.

The shawl is worked with two yarns. Yarn A is a lace weight yarn, Yarn B a fingering weight yarn. The two yarns are striped together. In the sample, Yarn A is Hesselgarn Silk Poem (100g/800m) and the other a variety of 20 g mini skeins in Hesselgarn Silk Song (100g/400m) dyed for assigned pooling.
