These mittens have the words “LEFT” and “RIGHT” knit onto the corresponding mitten. Fun teaching tool!

Mittens are knit on 2 needles, thumb is knit in the round.

Pattern states “These mittens, sized to fit children from 2 to 10 years, signal ‘Right’ and ‘Left’ for added interest… They require about 8 ounces Main Color and small amount of Contrasting Color knitting worsted weight yarn. Use standard knitting needles size 4, double pointed needles size 4, one bobbin and a crochet hook.”

(The request for crochet hook seems to be a misprint.)
