This Dragonpine Designs pattern was designed by Janet Filipchuk and Cathy Frauts.

This looks like a sweater, but it’s actually a chill chaser. What is a chill chaser, you ask? It’s basically a sweater without a front! Instead of pulling it on over your head, you wrap it around your shoulders and tie the “sleeves” loosely around your neck or shoulders to secure. It keeps you warm in chilly air conditioning (or those chilly summer nights), without actually being worn. If you get warm, just untie the sleeves! Best of both worlds: not quite a sweater, but not quite a shawl.

This pattern includes a fully customizable design: five different ribbing options for the bottom of the back and the bottom of the sleeves, and five different cable patterns for down the middle of the sleeves and the three back panels. Mix and match for a completely unique accessory! The sleeves are joined together at the back using a 3-needle bind off (instructions are included). Photographs and written instructions of each rib and cable option are included on pages 5 through 8, and schematics of the back piece and the sleeves with blocked measurements for each size are included on pages 9 and 10.
