The pattern says to use a size 17 or 15. I prefer the size 15 because I get a tighter and more pronounced cable. This will depend on how tightly you knit.

In addition to the yarn you will need:

  • One pair of purse handles. (Purchased mine at JoAnn Fabrics)
  • Approximately 1 1/2 yards of ribbon.
  • fray check to keep the ends of your ribbon looking perfect.
  • Fabric to line your bag.

Yarn substitutes: Rowan Big Wool, Encore Mega, Wool-Ease Thick & Quick.
