Walking through the old city of Amsterdam on a December night, the charming homes that line the canals look so lovely decorated for the season. There is that wonderful feeling of Christmas in the air. These ornaments are a little piece of Christmas in Amsterdam that you can bring into your home for the holidays.

The houses are designed with two sides…the front facade with its typical little windows and doorway and the back of the house with a design of bold stripes and dots. There is no right or wrong side. If they twist on the Christmas tree they can only cause delight :)

The ornaments are knit flat in stockinette stitch. Charts are included. To keep the finished house flat, a simple form is cut from cardboard and fit into the ornament. They knit up quickly and are really a joy to create.
