Create your own Pine Forest!

These cute little Amigurumi pine trees can add holiday cheer to your table or mantelpiece any time of year!

The instructions call for worsted weight (#4) yarn, but any weight of yarn could be used, with appropriately sized hooks … a great STASH BUSTER project.

Gauge is not really important for this project.

The tree is worked in the round from the bottom up. The shaping and finished size is determined by the beginning stitch count, the yarn weight, and 4 different sizes of hooks that cause a decrease in the diameter of the tree as it is constructed. Optional instructions provide directions for using just 2 different hook sizes (F and H).

The pattern provides step-by-step instructions and photos for executing the Back Post Double Crochet Stitch used to create the Crocodile Stitch that forms the branches of the tree. You will master these techniques as you make your first tree, so you can then apply what you’ve learned to create endless variations of size, shape, and color.

Instructions are also given for creating an optional beaded garland to wrap around your finished tree. Dig into your bead and button collection to find other ‘ornaments’ you can use to decorate your tree, and then sit back and enjoy the woodland forest you have created!
