This versatile pattern is designed for beginners to get to grips with knitting on a bias and simple increases and decreases, as well as for more experienced knitters who want a nice, easy project. It would be great for using handspun, as well as small amounts of luxury yarns. The small contrast bands are handy for using leftovers too.

It requires approximately 190g of DK altogether, divided thus: approximately 20g of the contrast colour (narrow bands), and approximately 85g each of the two main colours.

The yarns shown are Eden Cottage Yarns Bowland DK and Maya DK (100g; 220m; 245yds) in colours:
Women’s scarf: ‘Buddleja’, ‘Stone’ and ‘Blossom’
Men’s scarf: ‘Charcoal’, ‘Woodland’, and ‘Steel’

Please note that whilst gauge is not important, using a different gauge will result in a differently sized scarf.
